Tradiční povolání elfů je ranger. Mezi elfy je ale také řada vynikajících mágů, druidů, kněží i heretiků, roguů. Dokonce i elfí válečník, ačkoliv nevyniká silou, se svými rychlejšími údery vyrovná i zdatnému orkovi. Prakticky vůbec neexistují elfí nekromanceři, protože elfové cítí k tomuto druhu magie vrozený odpor.
