In Daugas City you’ll come across a mysterious stone, beside which stands a figure in a red hooded cloak. If you talk to this figure, you’ll learn they’re a guide to the Shadow Realm—and after completing their quest, you’ll unlock the .shadeshift ability, letting you teleport straight into the Shadow Realm.
Shadeshift restrictions
The shadeshift ability can be used almost anywhere. Naturally, it’s forbidden in certain places—such as housing zones or most parts of dungeon zones (with only a few small exceptions).
Shadow resistance
Enemies in the Shadow Realm are infused with dark protective magic that reduces the damage players deal—some foes are affected less, others more. When a monster is killed, there’s a chance it will drop a fragment of its aura known as a shadow infusion.
Shadow infused
To counteract the effects of shadow resistance, players need to imbue their armor and weapons with Shadow Infusions. To infuse an item, a player needs:
- shadow infusion
- shadow fuser
- shadow altar (close proximity)
Shadow infusions upgrade
Shadow Infusions can be combined to create more potent forms.
