The Recycler (The Void Press) is a mysterious place south of the Ice Mage Guild. At the magic stone you can, for a fee, combine seven magical or rare items and remake them into another with a randomly generated bonus. The stone also supports other recycle types (see below) — each with its own item count and gold cost.

Notes

  • Inserting seven items of the same type (e.g. knight sword) produces that type again. Mixed types yield a random magic item.
  • Result quality follows the average quality of the inserted magic items (e.g. a weak–strong mix often lands around potent).
  • Seven magic items of the same quality (e.g. powerful) usually produce that same quality again.
  • With rare items, the chance of a rare result rises with how many rares you insert. A rare result can have higher quality than the inputs (e.g. immense → often arcane) — it is not a fixed “+1 tier for every seven”.
  • The stone rejects top-tier monumental (and similarly extreme) items; lower qualities are fine. See Items for quality names.
  • Result durability averages the durability of the inputs.

Fees

  • Magic items — 1000 gp (7 pieces)
  • Forgotten Realms scrolls — 1000 gp (3 scrolls)
  • Treasure maps — 1000 gp (3 maps)
  • Runes — 2000 gp (3 identical identified runes)
  • Runeword scrolls — 5000 gp (3 scrolls from groups rw1–rw4)

Recycle types

The magic stone supports these groups (tabs in the UI):

  • Magic items — 7 pieces; always unlocked.
  • Forgotten Realms scrolls — 3 scrolls; result is an FR scroll whose level depends on the inputs (higher levels are possible but rarer).
  • Runes — 3 identical identified runes → 1 new rune of the same type.
  • Runeword scrolls — 3 RW scrolls (groups rw1–rw4); result is a random scroll from an allowed group, at most one group above the highest input.
  • Treasure maps — 3 maps; result level depends on the inputs (higher levels, including very rare ones, are possible).

Unlocking

Magic item recycling is unlocked automatically. Other tabs are unlocked by quests (the stone shows a hint if a tab is still locked):

  • Runeword scrolls — Kaelrith Snowthorn (Daugas)
  • Runes — Thalorien Znakoved (Air Mage guild)
  • Forgotten Realms scrolls — Arvendal (Hoggard)
  • Treasure maps — Jack the Pirate (The Rocky Waterfall Inn)
