Druid has multiple possible roles to play. For PvM in the party, morphs are most often used, where the druid is a strong and durable melee fighter. However, he can also play the role of a magician and support the party for his unique magic. He also has good potential for soloing with pets, his spells and stick fighting (he can try to play in a party, but peti and summons are not very good in large groups because they are difficult to handle between walls and doors and can cause party various problems).
